Barley Green. What is Barley Green?
Barley green is not a vitamin, mineral or supplement. It is actually the young barley grass that has been organically grown and the fiber removed through the juicing process. The juice is then reduced to a powder form through an ingenious patented process developed by Dr. Yoshihide Hagiwara, M.D. the inventor of Barley green. This unique product is unequaled in the world compared to all others and contains the highest density of nutrients of any food on the market today. Barley green is a live naturally potent organically grown food produce from the juice extracted from young barley leaves when they ate 10 to 14 inches in height. After the juice is released from the fiber, it becomes very fragile and unstable and is subjected to oxidation decomposition threatening the nutritonal enzymes, vitamins and chlorophyll. To stabilize and preserve the juice, it is spray dried onto water soluble, complex carbohydrates called maltodextrin. Maltodextrin is derived from corn. The maltodextrin dissolves in water unlike the plant fiber, thus allowing the nutrients to be absorbed directly into the blood stream within minutes, without going through the digestive process.
Using the patented spray-drying method, the juice is then dried in approximately two seconds without heat than never exceed the body temperature. This non-heating nonfreezing process captures the nutrients in the juice without damaging them resulting in a bright green powder rich in vitamins, minerals, live enzymes, chlorophyll and protein. Small amounts of powdered brown rice and kelp are also added to Barley green. Brown rice is a rich source of vitamin B-1, B-2, nicotinic acid and linoleic acid, while kelp is a good source of trace mineral. Trace minerals are missing the standard American diet, therefore barley green is essential. Barley green is an alkaline in PH, an important antidote for our high acid, high protein diet. Barley green has no side effects. One tablespoon of Barley green contains approximately 22 calories
